FAQ’s
I get asked a lot of questions. Many of them are specific to individuals but most are more generic and some are just plain funny. I’ll answer those I can recall but please, ask away and interact on this site. It’s fun to think and write.
For now, I’ll start with the basics about Energy Matters:
Where are you located? 20 Central St. Hingham, MA 02043. Actually in the municipal parking lot between Central, South and Main Streets.
What are your hours? I never know…Generally Tuesday through Saturday, a schedule built around my regular clients.
What are your prices? $30 for a half hour, $45 for 45 minutes, $60 for an hour, $75 for 75 minutes, $90 for an hour and a half. (What’s that formula?)
Can I get an un-draped massage? Absolutely not. Too bad, since I have nothing against naked bodies, but the sexual weirdness that goes with nudity in this culture is not a part of my work. My rule: No sexual overtones, no perverts, no pulling the draping off, no lunchtime spontaneous cash calls, no out-calls, no in-home for strangers, no creepiness!
Why don’t you answer your phone? I am a sole-proprietor. I have no receptionist. When I work, the phone is off (for obvious reasons). The busier I get, the more my phone is off. Leave a message, Tweet, Facebook, or email through Energy Matters.
Why is your door locked? Do you want some crazy neighborhood stranger or massage therapist walking in on your session?
Do you have Drop-In hours? No, sorry. Since I can’t answer the door most of the time, it would be silly to encourage people to drop in. I do try to Tweet last minute appointments but your best bet is to call at least a few days in advance of when you want to come in.
Do you have evening hours? I’d prefer those be confined to Thursday. Sometimes Friday.
Do you have weekend hours? Almost all Saturdays. Sundays for very special people or circumstances with advance notice.
Do you accept Insurance? No
Do you accept credit cards? MasterCard and Visa.
Are you licensed? Yes. I am a licensed massage therapist (LMT) and mental health counselor(LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts.
Is Energy Matters accessible? No, I’m so sorry. It has about3 nasty stairs with no railing. I can get help with the stairs and navigating them for clients thanks to Tim.
Is there a bathroom?Why yes.
Who made the amazing quilts? The amazing Virginia Holloway!
What’s that smell? I make my own aromatherapy concoctions for oils, sprays, and lotions in the studio. I’m very into this and have just started making my own hand soaps, shampoo and conditioners (so far just for me). Look out in the future for absolutely homemade organic aromatherapy bar soaps by Tim and Steph.
Enough of that for now. Add your questions to the comments if I forgot something basic.
Here’s the sweet little Facebook app for you to engage with…
